Beautiful adventurers, if you’ve ever read a post by me in the past, you will know that I enjoy what I call ‘positive procrastination,’ and my favourite playground is tumblr. There’s so much to see, such inspiring pictures to gather, and gifs for your every mood.
But hey, did you know that tumblr isn’t just a time waster? The next time you feel like whittling away an hour on tumblr, why not spread it across these three tumblogs. At least that way, you might learn something about writing!
- Write World » This blog gives prompts the way I like them – either with a picture, word, or song! You could lose many an hour in their archive, but the things you would learn about writing will more than make up for the time lost. Write World is super easy to navigate and find what you need – check out the sidebar! Bonus: it’s super pretty to look at.
- Writability » Ava Jae’s blog has been around a while, but every post is golden. Her content is so useful, and best of all, it won’t take you long to read. Three cheers for super fast learning time! I like efficiency, me. Bonus: her content is complimented by her most awesome taste in bookish reblogs.
- The Writing Cafe » Although this blog mostly deals in answering questions, you’d be surprised at how many questions you haven’t thought of yourself. I’ve learned a lot through other people’s curiosity. Sometimes the answers will be brief, but there are times when they go above and beyond what anyone could expect from a blog. Check out the archive for a treasure trove of writerly joy! Bonus: the research posts are deliciously indepth. My current favourite? This awesome post on schools & education.
Bonus bookish blog – Go Book Yourself! For those times when you’ve just finished a book and nothing else will do, so you need something similar.
Happy writing – or researching! Yes, let’s call it research.
