I’m cheating a little today. I haven’t read anything lately that I’m ready to review AND it’s the beginning of NaNoWriMo, so I thought I’d share some great inspirational posts I’ve read this week.
Every year Nano recruits fantastic authors to write pep talks for the participants. If you’re writing your heart out during the month of November, it can be hard to make any reading time. For me, reading fiction during Nano is almost impossible, but writerly inspiration is always welcome! So if you’re in need of a little pep, check out this year’s posts.
I was so excited to hear that Diana Gabaldon, author of the OUTLANDER series, would be one of the pep talk authors this year.
Success in writing—and by that, I mean getting the contents of your head out onto the page in a form that other people can relate to—is largely a matter of playing mind games with yourself. In order to get anywhere, you need to figure out how your own mind works—and believe me, people are not all wired up the same way.
You can read Diana’s entire post here.
Other 2015 Nano Pep Talk Authors include Gene Luen Yang, Sandy Hall, Charlaine Harris, N.K. Jemisin, and Stephanie Perkins.
Lots of amazing authors have offered their words of encouragement in the past including Neil Gaiman, Lemony Snicket, John Green, Veronica Roth, James Patterson, Rainbow Rowell, Lois Lowry, Marissa Meyer, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce, and so many more. You can view all the current and archived pep talks here.
Write like the wind, fellow Nano-ers!!
