I have big plans for April, not least of which is finishing A Magpie Mind.
Yep, that’s right. It’ll still need edits, but this is the LAST TOTAL REWRITE. It’s decided!
It’s already at 47k and so much better than the last two drafts, and I’m going to lose my mind if I start it again. So this is it. The final push.
How do I plan to accomplish this?
I’ve set my word count for 40k, which is a rough estimate of how much I have left to write. I’ve gotten started on the right foot (already hit my goal for today!), and I’m feeling good about it. Hopefully that feeling won’t wane as the month goes on; I’m really determined to just git ‘er done already!
So anyway, as I already said, I’m at 47k in rewrites, which means that things are going pretty well. I had wanted to be at 40k by the end of March and I seriously overshot that goal despite barely writing in the past few days, so I’m giving myself lots of pats on the back, because recognition of hard work (even if it is ME recognizing my OWN hard work) never goes amiss. Edits are going to require some reorganization, but they won’t require starting from scratch, which is the major thing.
All in all, writing is going pretty well, and I’m psyched for Camp NaNoWriMo to really get rolling. You can check out my profile if you’re interested. Link me to yours in the comments – I’d love to see what y’all are up to!
Are y’all doing Camp NaNo this month? What are your goals?
